Opening Reception for Fourth Grade Project in Yakima, Washington

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists is delighted to announce that The Felicity R. “Bebe” Benoliel Gallery will be featuring CFEVA alumna Judy Gelles this spring, celebrating her illustrious career following her years as a CFEVA Visual Artist Fellow. Exhibition run from June 5 - July 28| Opening Reception: June 8, 5PM Judy Gelles is a recipient of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists’ Travel Grant, a program that is designed to enable CFEVA alumni to pursue travel opportunities that further their artistic and/or professional development. Gelles used the grant to spend a week in Yakima, Washington where she continued her Fourth Grade Project at Harrah Elementary School which has a large Native American population from the Yakama Indian reservation. In the Fourth Grade Project, fourth graders from around the world answer three questions: Who do you live with? What do you wish for? What do you worry about? Gelles received her MFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1991, Her MEd in Counseling from University of Miami in 1968 and her Bachelor of Science from Boston University 1965.
